A Brief History

St Peter’s Hall is located on The Broadway in Woodhall Spa, directly opposite The Golf Hotel, and next to St Peter’s Church. Originally built in the 1960s as the Church Hall for St Peter’s, in November 2005 a Registered Charitable Trust – St Peter’s Hall Woodhall Spa (1112649) – was established to run and manage the Hall. The Trust consists of seven Trustees who are elected annually at the AGM held at the hall on the last Saturday in November. In addition to this the Woodhall Spa & Kirkstead PCC appoints one member to represent the Church.

The Facilities – The Hall and Events

St Peter’s Hall is used for a range of events including talks, lectures, dinners, and antique fairs to name but a few. The hall seats up to 125 depending upon the layout and the hire charge includes the use of the kitchen which has a serving hatch onto the hall, as well as tables and chairs, and a limited supply of cutlery and crockery to support informal arrangements. For more formal requirements the hirer will need to arrange these independently.

The Facilities – Activities and Clubs

St Peter’s Hall is in regular use by the community and supports a wide range of clubs and activities ranging from Carpet Bowls to Pilates and Table Tennis, through to Aerobics, Dance, Singing and various Keep Fit Groups. Trustees are keen to welcome a wide range of activities, especially those that promote inclusion for groups that may find it hard to access activities, clubs or facilities in the local area.

The Facilities – Theatrical Performance Space

St Peter’s Hall is blessed with a traditional stage space which includes separate dressing room space and uni-sex toilet facility. Although presently without lighting or sound facilities Trustees can provide advice to those seeking to use the stage space for theatrical purposes as this is an area the Trust hopes to develop over the coming years. 

The Facilities – Meeting and Conference Room

St Peter’s Hall has a large partitioned room at the back of the stage, accessible via the main stage that can be hired in different formats and for different uses. Examples include use as either one large meeting room for conferencing purposes, or as two smaller room meetings rooms.

Parking

The hall has approximately four parking spaces at the front of the hall, and enjoys ample roadside parking on The Broadway and Iddesleigh Road.
